- When we got our fridge the guy who put it in said the ice maker wouldn’t work cause the water part on the pipe had a leak so we didn’t hook it up. But when I looked in my freezer there was ice and I don’t get that kind of ice no where. We don’t even buy that kind of ice or there isn’t a kind. But what if no one hooked it up? its never been used for an ice maker. We’ve kept food in it. But then once we looked in it and there was ice. it could be those spirits Blondie! - My girlfriend made her first batch of chocolate truffles today (soooo good!). She coated some with cocoa powder, coconut, and others with powdered sugar. The powdered sugar ones soaked through the white powdered sugar, like the powdered sugar melted partially or got wet or something All of the truffles were cooled, they were in the fridge to firm up before they were formed into balls so we know heat wasn’t the problem. Does anyone know how to coat them and have the powerdered sugar stay it’s regular bright white color? Thanks! - 29 December 2008
- My mom used to always tell me to put left overs in a tupperware and place in the fridge. She said the if you put the pot or pan in the fridge to store the left overs, it would poison the food. My boyfriend does this all the time and I’ve always refused to eat the food. Well, now I’m sick and he made some chicken soup. He put the soup in the fridge, in the pot and gave me some for work today. I’m scared to eat it because of what Mom used to always say but I can’t seem to find anything on the net about it. Has anyone heard of this? Is it true that refrigerated food in pots poisons you? My mom used to always tell me to put left overs in a tupperware and place in the fridge. - I need to make cookies for my class tomorrow morning (I forgot a vocab word so I have to bring in treats) and I tend to be a slow cook so don’t want to wake up at 6:00 in order to start them from scratch. I’m pretty sure I’m going to make snickerdoodles (if you have any other suggestions (besides chocolate chip–I ran out of brown sugar) you’re welcome to give them) and I could either mix together a few of the ingredients together like butter/vanilla/sugar and salt/flour/baking powder/etc. or I can make the dough now, put it in the fridge, and leave them out to reach room temp while I get ready to leave and then I can bake them before I go. Which should I do? If I should store them in the fridge overnight, how long do I need to leave them out, and will they still come out as good? Sorry for not being very clear; I mean I’m going to put the cookie dough in the fridge overnight and bake it in the morning, not the baked cookies in the fridge lol. I just like freshly baked cookies better anyway, which is why I want to bake them tomorrow. - 12 November 2008
