- I’m planning on buying new clear pine doors and want to tone down the glaring ‘newness’ of the pine to a softer aged look. I would rather not paint, and quite keen on wax, such as Liberon Black Bison or Fiddes. I don’t want to darken the wood too much. Does anyone have any advice about what to use and how to use it. Looking in B&Q and Homebase, they say their clear pine doors are not suitable for waxing - is this the case for all clear pine doors? Many thanks for your help. - 19 February 2009
- There is a structure wall between my family room and laundry room, I would like to remove this wall to make these two rooms to become to one big family room. How should I do it without damage the house structure? Thanks a lot for the advice! - 14 February 2009
- I’m really interested in the health benefits of doing a mostly raw diet ( I read that even 75% raw is still considered a raw diet). Is there any books or sources that were invaluable when you made your dietary changes? Any tips or advice for a newbie? - Any Advice and possibly not “go to a doctor” I am Sick with the flu and i have 3 kancore sores in my mouth, the little beeds on my toung i have like 6 little bumps that are swallon and red and i have a bunch of cuts on the roof of my mouth i they just showed up and on the back of my bottom gum there are cuts too, and on the top of that my wisdom teeth are comeing in and advise??? - 19 January 2009
- I am working on one year employment visa in Qatar for the last three omnths. I got an opportunity in another company different Country (GCC) which is better in every respect. The notice period in the present company is 1 month. I am scared that they may not accept my resignation. I want to join the other company while availing the off period from my home country. Will be any problem in getting visa stamping for the new company in the other country. Will I be denied in future for any employment visa in the present employer/country. - My left hand finger nails have suddenly been growing out of control. My right hand is my domanant hand & it has not followed suit. I’ve tried to care for my right hand in the same way as i’ve done the left but i have trouble filing the nails on the right hand. Thanks for your advice! - 20 December 2008
- I’ll be going to reading festival tomorrow, and apparently there’s loads of sniffer dogs about. I really don’t see the issue of taking a bit of weed to smoke at a 4 day music festival, but there ya go. I’ve heard something about covering it in a plastic zip-lock bag, then cover it in another plastic bag. I’ve also heard about using Vaseline to seal the smell, and coffee beans to cover the smell. - From research on the net, it seems it’s advisable to thin the amount of fruit on pear trees so as to improve the quality, and to do so as early as possible. Is it advisable to thin the blossoms (before they start turning into fruit)? If so, can anybody tell me where to find photos / examples of the process. Since the blossoms come in clusters, I’m not sure which ones to remove - a few of the blossoms, or the whole cluster. Finally, if I have too many spurs on a branch, should I take the spur off completely, or just remove the blossoms? Any advice would be much appreciated, esp. photos etc, as it’s a bit difficult to work out exactly what to do from written instructions. - 7 December 2008
